Abbotsford Municipal Court has jurisdiction over traffic and city ordinance violations. Abbotsford Municipal Court only hears traffic and ordinance citations issued by Colby-Abbotsford Police Department in the City of Abbotsford. If you received a citation in the City of Abbotsford by another agency, such as Clark or Marathon County Sheriff’s Departments or Wisconsin State Patrol, those are heard in Circuit Court. Abbotsford Municipal Court cannot accept payments for other courts; if you have a payment or a question concerning a citation in another court, you will need to contact them.
As with all courts, you have the right to be represented by an attorney, however municipal court does not appoint an attorney, nor does it pay for any attorney costs or expenses.
